Here are my notes for clearing BGP sessions/neighbors. The “clear ip bgp” command is one of the most helpful commands when configuring, troubleshooting, and updating configurations with BGP neighbors. When using this command, it is essential to know its options. With multiple BGP neighbors and using the wrong option in the command can take down all neighbors and cause a network outage or failed Internet connectivity.
